Call for Manuscripts
The Journal of Texas History, a publication of the Alliance for Texas History, seeks manuscripts on all aspects of Texas history. The journal is online and open access, with reasonably priced print-on-demand availability for those who would like a printed volume.
The journal is hosted by our partner, the University of Texas at Arlington Libraries, and is available at https://mavmatrix.uta.edu/journaltexashistory/.
Submissions should reflect the diversity in historical scholarship about Texas while speaking to a broad readership. The journal will publish high-quality, authoritative, and innovative articles based on original research and sound methodology.
Manuscripts should be approximately 8,000 – 10,000 words in length, including notes. They should follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th or 18th edition.
All manuscripts will undergo a thorough double-blind peer review process. We will not consider previously published texts (in whole or in part) or those that are currently under consideration for publication in another journal.
